Descendants 2: Updates, Plot, New VKs, and Disney Channel Shockers

There seems to be one thing every Descendants fan is questioning:

Is King Ben going bad?

Most likely, no.

"When Ben realizes Mal has left Auradon, he decides to go after her." says Descendants 2 director Kenny Ortega to Oh My Disney. Confused? Oh My Disney reveals the plot.

"The story deepens in the music-driven sequel to the global smash hit “Descendants,” as the teenage sons and daughters of Disney’s most infamous villains — Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay (also known as Villain Kids or VKs) — try to find their place in idyllic Auradon. When the pressure to be royally perfect becomes too much for Mal, she returns to her rotten roots on the Isle of the Lost where her archenemy Uma, the daughter of Ursula, has taken her spot as self-proclaimed queen of the run-down town. Uma, still resentful over not being selected by Ben to go to Auradon Prep with the other Villain Kids, stirs her pirate gang including Captain Hook’s son Harry and Gaston’s son Gil, to break the barrier between the Isle of the Lost and Auradon, and unleash all the villains imprisoned on the Isle, once and for all."

Uma will be portrayed by A.N.T. Farm star China Anne Mclain, Gil will be portrayed by newcomer Dylan Playfair, and The Lodge's Thomas Doherty will be portraying Harry.

Dizzy, who is Drizella's daughter, will also be added to the new VK line-up, and will be portrayed by Odd Squad's Anna Cathcart, pictured below. I can't wait to learn the impact she has on the story, especially since she's younger than most of the characters.

"But Disney Channel is struggling. They can't even hit 1.5M views nowadays. Such a bad look. Such a bad time for the franchise to be airing." tweeted @Descendants2015. "Descendants Holiday special only pulled in 1.1 million views. I'm so disappointed in Disney ratings these days. It's literally done with."
